"Talking Wood" - Book and CD (see PHOTOS)
A photographic, journalistic and musical diary of a year in my life as a luthier. The book carries 680 colour images of guitars and related things being built.
The CD is a random collection of some solo acoustic guitar snippets and a few band pieces. Chris Gibbons (see LINKS) was my mentor, producer, engineer and generally Mummy person for that part of it.
There is a forward by John Paul Jones (see LINKS) of Led Zeppelin, an esteemed client.
A thousand were printed. I have a few copies left. The price is £25 plus postage. Contact me if you'd like a copy. Some people ask for their copy to be signed and personalised. I'm happy to do that.

PARLOUR GUITAR - See the photo gallery.
This guitar, in Cuban mahogany, was built in tandem with an identical instrument, commissioned with Brazilian rosewood back and sides. I wanted to hear the comparison. I personally prefer the slightly rounder richer sound of this one. The parlour size lends itself very well to recording. There is remarkable transparency and separation, and the amplitude belies the size. It comes with a "Calton" case for £4000.
FLAMENCO GUITAR - See the photo gallery.
Flamenco guitar in Cypress. This guitar, built with my preference for the minimal, is remarkably loud. I like to be using friction pegs, which are not as awkward for tuning as you may imagine. £4000 with Hiscox case.
"BLUEBIRD" GUITAR - See the photo gallery.
This guitar is similar to sarah McQuaid's. She loves hers. Others admire it. Some covet it. It's now in Hugh's showroom, Manson's guitar shop in Exeter. (See LINKS)
MAGPIE GUITAR - See the photo gallery.
This Magpie guitar was built in 1987 and has been meticulously cared for. The Brazilian rosewood back and sides are exceptionally beautiful. The voice is seductively mature. The owner is looking for £4995 including Hiscox case.
MOCKINGBIRD GUITAR - See the photo gallery
This is a very rare instrument from 1994 and is in more or less pristine condition. It's being offered for sale at "The Fellowship of Acoustics" in Holland. (See LINKS).
MERMAID GUITAR - See the photo gallery.
It's time she flew the nest. Or swam it. Or something.....where will she go.........? Half the proceeds go to Harvest Help. Well it's only fair. We don't need all we've got when others have very little......
